2026 Tournament Results

Thanks
We had another UPGRADE to the MS Poker Tournament this year - moving from the Horseshoe Casino to the biggest and best local Poker Room at Live! Casino. The upgrade was obvious from many accounts, the best of which were the amount of added players during the event. While we had a great turnout (of pre-registered players) and I can't thank everyone enough for continuing to support the event every year - as evidenced by our final table, we had a lot of random people join in as well, and that helped us reach our highest MS Poker fund raising total ever: raising over $4500 for the National MS Society. Thanks to Cindy for helping organize and making this happen and thanks to Dan and Jeff for traveling long distances to join us - and just thanks to everyone (especially the non poker players - like me - who knew this would be a donation ;-)
We had a great experience at MD Live! and with over 60 official entries, the poker room was pleased with the outcome, and we are psyched to come back next year and make the event even bigger!

Tournament Highlights and Results
On to the tournament summary and highlights. Like I said above - we had some major challengers from the casino join us this year, but especially early on - our normal group had some great representation and helped fill the tables and make an inviting atmosphere. The early stages of the tournament are my favorite as I got to play a little without too much consequence - and the blinds weren't brutal. I think these folks will agree.

Game On - lots of Poker Faces ready to take home the trophy and top prizes!

We had a great mix of legacy players, a few new friends joined this year, and some random challengers too. Through the first 10 rounds we had plenty of action - and as usual I was one of the first players our after the break... but the birthday girl was hanging in tight.

The lucky ladies worked early on for the birthday girl, but unfortunately, they ran into bullets and her night came to an end as we were getting down to two tables.

Surprisingly we had a lot of people hanging around, even with the high blinds and antes, however, at the end of the day the final table was formed, and our rooting interest was clear - we were all backing our lone rep - 2024 champ - Antonio - against the field.

Final Table and Results
Final Table
Antonio repped strong - and with a pair over pair hand actually took the chip lead at the final table, before jinxing himself - with trophy claims.... At the final table break - there were three players left and Antonio still had the chip lead.

Unfortunately, two quick big hands shifted the chips back to the other two players, and our hopes of keeping the trophy in the "family" were extinguished.

Final 3
At the end, John (who knocked out Laurie) and Joe battled for a few hands with John seeking a chop, but Joe holding out to get the trophy. Eventually, Joe took the chip lead and then was able to negotiate the chop and take home the trophy.
Congratulations to our 2026 top finishers and new Champion!
